thursday i had a shoot with a lovely lady, kaity parrott. her family came with her (always easier and fun) and little did she know, her boyfriend was coming at the end of the shoot to propose. so i got to capture that as well!

we ended the shoot on the beach but right before that i heard someone yell my name from the street.

brother and neighbor, jason!

before the shoot, i had some time to kill and this photo is the result. i miss taking landscape photos. i like trees. so does michael. he always wants me to take photos of trees. so here you go lovey!! ;)

the thought of "honest photography" chanced upon my mind the other day. it was brought up by someone i was talking to. i don't think any photography is honest reality through and through. photography is an art and what it conveys varies from artist to artist. what you see in my images is what i want you to see. it's not reality in every sense, but i think my goal is to convey reality in my own way. yea. i wrote on a piece of paper in january this year that i wanted to capture the good, the bad, the happy, the sad, the indifferent, the ecstatic, the wrinkles, the flaws, the lovely, the conventional "pretty" and unconventional pretty and everything in between. i think that's the goal of most photographers. not all, but most. which is neat. i also like seeing other photographers view of reality, especially if it's different than mine.

ramblings accompanied with photos

my brother, ryan william joseph reaux, and i, paige monique reaux, drove around aimlessly the other day and took some photos. i was headed out by myself but he called and was like "something something, yea let's hang, something or another blah blah". my brother is so seemingly phlegmatic (NEW WORD, thanks dictionary.com texts). if you are close to him, you know he's really not. he speaks when he needs to. because AFTER ALL... a multitude of words does not prove a shrewd mind (paraphrase). so... neat.

we went to a cemetery because i'm "morbid" and think they're cool.

the cemetery is right by one of my favorite places to go on back bay in d'iberville. smells like salt and shrimp.

:]

the above photos were fun to edit because #1 it was SOOOO humid and dim outside. it was completely overcast plus it was around 8 pm. #2 i forgot to correct my WB so they came out extremely blue.

this is an unedited example/outtake... i think this photo is super creepy looking with me floating in the air and out of focus with my mouth wide open looking like scream. ew.

i also did my first infant shoot the other day with my new cousin lily knox! this is probably an area i don't want to specialize in too much but i'll do it. i also said that about weddings the first time i did one. i think it's just a matter of becoming comfortable and more confident. blah! i'm still going through the photos but here's a favorite:

lily re-edit... !!

i believe that is all for today.

Anderson wedding & etc's.

I photographed my cousin's wedding recently.

jessica is very outgoing, very sweet, and comfortable in her own skin which is what I think I enjoy most about her. when we were kids she LLLOOOOVVVEEEDDD every disney princess. and she was one. she had princess blood in her. no doubt about it. i remember her dressing up in jasmine outfits. she had pretty long blonde hair.

so here are a few of the wedding photos... not many. i'll put more up later.

Her ''knight in shining armor'', Derek:

I enjoy this photo. been attracted to low contrast B&W's lately. just seems raw and nice to me.

my nephew playing before the wedding started. he is the sweetest little boy. i love love love love my nephew and two nieces.

this is my current favorite... my grandma at the wedding:

grandma.

there are times (like 0.1% of the time) when I make a photo and it's exactly how i want it. it's exactly how my eye wants to see things and exactly how i want to express things by photos. that photo was the 0.1% for me.

welp, that is all. i conclude with one thought: i had an extra ac vent installed in my room today due to my room's heat absorbent tendencies. said new vent is directed right to my face which leads to dry eyes which leads to conclusion of photoblog!

Typing blogs always makes my brain freeze up. Like typer's block.

As for recently, I am in anti-technology mood. My computer makes my head/eyeballs/neck hurt. Texting makes me want to throw my phone out of the window for various reasons. There's so much information around me at all times via interwebz/media that I feel like my brain is going to explode. With that being said, it'd be way super cool to go hang out in the middle of nowhere (preferably woods) in a cabin of some sort (preferably no bugs that mildly resemble a cockroach) with my Bible, camera, and guitar. Maybe a notebook. Probably a notebook.

But since there are so many positives with technology, I'll just shut it all down until he and I become friends again.

My favorite photo lately:

my niece!

This is my beloved niece. She recently had an appendectomy so she was laid up eating bluebell rocky road ice cream at leisure (I bribed her with ice cream in order to get this photo). This is her hair after such an arduous endeavor. When I went to visit her in the hospital, she was the most beautiful little thing, sick as she was, laying in the bed. Really! I was mad at myself for forgetting my camera. She has beautiful clear skin, pretty hair, pretty eyes. My sweet niece. She's growing up way too fast.

These are three sets of pretty eyes I've seen lately. No isolated editing done on them, they all just have awesome eyes.

In conclusion of this photo blog, here is Eliot, the greatest dane. He's sweet, runs like a horse, and is totally clumsy.
